RETRO-ACTIVE

Dave Cass - Vocals
Dave has been fronting bands since 1998, including Soul Shaker, Shock Roxy, Sucker Punch, and Funk n Chaos.  He has opened for Foreigner, Pretty Boy Floyd, and Orgy.  Dave's singing is influenced by old school funk and soul train with a heavy dose of in your face rock & roll.  Dave leaves it all on the stage every night he performs!

Christi Sartin - Vocals and slide whistle
Christi lost her band-ginity with Retro-Active in 2006 and has been blowing away crowds ever since.  Close your eyes and you will think Adele, Nancy Wilson, and Pat Benatar are performing for you!

Sean Hood - Guitar
Sean picked up the guitar at the age of 13 and was instantly hooked.  He cut his teeth wood-shedding on the classic rock and hard rock of the late 60s, 70s and 80s, and Sean's musical interests continue to revolve around the groundbreaking guitar-driven music of those eras.  One of the many reasons why Sean loves playing in Retro-Active is that he gets his hard rock fix while venturing into less-familiar musical realms that also make for great live music.

Devon Engel - Bass
Devon played in bands in New York, Atlanta, and Washington DC before moving to Arizona.     Prior bands include Several Dudes, Fallout, Realm, and Dionysus.  Devon played in the band for the GW Law Revue show all three years of law school and was musical director for Little Shop of Lawyers.  He has also played in the band for several musicals including Grease and Hair.

Mike Rissman - Keys

Mike wasted his formative years playing classical, jazz and rock music at the piano.  In the 1980s he switched to an electronic keyboard and changed genres, beginning with classics such as MS-DOS, WordPerfect, and Visicalc. He returned to his musical roots when he joined Retro-Active in 2017, at which time he became both its newest and oldest member.

Chuck Leyva - Drums

Performing for 40 years, Chuck’s early experience included marching bands and drum corps.  A 20 year veteran of the Los Angeles music scene, he moved to Phoenix in 1999 and started playing in local Phoenix area bands.  Over the years, Chuck’s styles have varied from heavy metal to country, inspirational to jazz, blues to rock ‘n roll.  Chuck is a proud endorser of Boom Theory Drums.
